Brenda Lynn Mills was born December 27th, 1964 in El Paso, TX, to Lynwood Frasier Mills and Sammie Jean (Drummond) Mills. She passed away on Thursday, January 25th, 2024 in Elk City, OK at the age of 59 years and 29 days.
Brenda lived in El Paso, TX until she was eleven years old and the family then moved to Elk City, OK. She attended Elk City Public Schools. After school, Brenda moved around working jobs in the culinary industry. She worked in the kitchens of Taco Factory, K Bobs in Elk City and Enid, OK, Blue Bell Ice Cream in Tulsa, and Bar S in Clinton, OK. Brenda then moved back to Elk City.
Brenda loved animals. In high school she showed pigs and sheep. Her love for animals meant her taking in a few strays to help care for them. Brenda was a people person. Brenda was known for her outgoing nature and never met a stranger. She loved to socialize with anyone she could. She loved her family and was glad to be back in Elk City to spend her time with them.
Brenda is preceded in death by her parents Lynwood and Sammie Mills, paternal grandparents William and Lillie Mills, and maternal grandparents Samuel and Selma Drummond.
She is survived by her siblings Sharon Forrester and husband Greg of Elk City; Lynwood Mills Jr. of El Paso, TX, Duane Mills and wife Julie of Elk City, Doug Mills and wife Angie of Elk City; three nieces Janna Mills of Granite, OK, Amber Lovelace of Burns Flat, OK, Ashley Forrester of Oklahoma City, OK; six nephews Joe Mills and wife Kathy of Jacksonville, NC, Justin Mills and wife Randi of Elk City, Coty Forrester and wife Jaeda of Elk City, Riley Forrester and wife Mikiah of Elk City, Ryan Mills of Edmond, OK, Benjamin Mills of Norman, OK; nine great nieces and six great nephews; extended family and many, many friends.
The family of Brenda would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Comforting Hands Hospice and Bell Avenue Nursing Home for their wonderful care and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local animal shelter or the Diabetes Association.
