Bobby Joe Coon was born on October 13, 1964 to Robert Dee and Ann Inez (Wallace) Coon in Sayre, OK. He passed on August 7, 2025 at the age of 60 years, 9 months and 25 days.
Bobby grew up in Elk City, OK as the youngest of his two siblings Nancy and Bill. He attended Elk City High School and graduated with the class of 1982. On August 24, 1984, Bobby married Shari Cooper in Elk City and to this union six children were born Kyle, Courtney, Caitlyn, Kristen, Chloe, and Kamri. He worked in the oilfield industry for over 36 years. He was employed by Production Operators for 10 years and then another 26 years for Energy Transfer. Bobby was known best, by his coworkers, for his hard work ethic and knowledge.
In his spare time, Bobby volunteered for Disaster Relief. He was always willing to travel anywhere to help others. He also enjoyed traveling to the mountains in Red River, where he collected wood to carve walking sticks. Everyone always enjoyed spending time with Bobby and listening to his silly stories, awful songs, and contagious laughs. Bobby was a member of One Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Inez Coon, sister Nancy White, and granddaughter Karter Crosby.
Bobby is survived by his wife Shari Coon of the home; six children Kyle Coon and wife Robin and their children Bradley, Jaci, and Stryder of Cheyenne, OK, Courtney McHenry and husband Levi and their children Cooper, Lauryn, Wrangler, and Maddison of Thomas, OK, Caitlyn Crosby and husband Michael and their children Koda, Kreed, and Kyanne of Elk City, OK, Kristen Garcia and husband Shelby of Burns Flat, OK, Chloe Coon and Donovan Williamson and son Bronx of Elk City, OK, Kamri Coon and daughter Hartlee of Clinton, OK; brother Bill Coon and wife Janette of Reno, Nevada; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends.
