Bobby Ray Nix was born February 5th, 1937 in Canute, Oklahoma to Mary and Dewey Nix. He passed away Sunday, August 7th, 2022 in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years, 6 months, and 2 days. "Bob" grew up in Canute where he spent the majority of his childhood and was part of the graduating class of 1956. After graduation, Bob worked for Kelly Dairy, driving a milk truck. He then moved to Oklahoma City, to work for Coca Cola, where he spent about 18 years. After that, he purchased a small quick shop near Shattuck, OK which he owned and operated, before building a new convenience store in Gage, OK, which he owned for many years. Afterwards, he worked for Coors Distributing Co in Woodward, Oklahoma, where he drove a truck as a route salesman. Finally he owned a restaurant in Walters, OK named The Country Chateau, which seemed fitting, because in his spare time, Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, going out to eat, and celebrating for any reason at all. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth Nix; daughter, Cheria Nix; one brother; George Nix, one sister; Viola Kupka, and nephews; Jeffrey Kupka and Ranny Brinkley. Bob is survived by his son, Justice Craig Nix, Oklahoma City, OK; daughter, Michelle Maxwell Greene, son, Russell Maxwell (& Penny), daughter, Carol Bivins Gatlin; son, Carson Bivins (& Loretta); Grandchildren, Faith Nix, Trinity Nix, Ruthanne Haight, John Shane Witsche, Bryan Witsche, Dennis Maxwell, Tasha Maxwell, Chip Greene, Kimberly Bivins, Blaine Bivins, and Angela Bivens; Great grandchildren, Dossanna, Alexis, Tyler, Taelyn, Kylie, Trinity, Skyler, and Xander; Nephews, Tim Kupka, Michael Kupka, and Gary Nix; Nieces, Susan Kupka Brinkley, Gayla Nix and Deborah Pruitt; and special friends Thelma Vaughan and Laura Philbin. A celebration of life will be held Friday, August 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Church of God officiated by Pastor Joe Thompson.
