In 1959, Wendell and Bobbie returned to western Oklahoma to settle and allow their children to attend school. Together they purchased a dairy farm near Carter, Oklahoma in 1964. They moved back to Elk City in 1980 where they fully retired and remained until their passing.

Bobbie proudly served as a cub scout den mother in Merritt, she was a long time member of the Lioness club where she helped with the wheelchair closet and the rodeo concession stand. She could often be seen at the rodeo with her best friend, Jackie Jones, making cotton candy and being covered with spun sugar. Bobbie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elk City and enjoyed garage sales, gardening, traveling, making wood crafts, and watching FOX news!
