Obituary

William "Bill" Robert Burns was born January 1, 1961 in Elkhart, KS to Eugene Burns and Donna Harding. He passed surrounded by family on January 21st, 2024 in Indiahoma, Oklahoma at the age of 63 years and 20 days.

Bill spent his childhood in Albuquerque, NM, Keyes, OK, and then Carter, OK. He attended and graduated from Carter High School. After high school he moved around with his two brothers working along side them. In 1990 Bill married Donna Sands and to this union twin boys William Robert Jr. and Christopher Charles and a daughter, Stormie was born. Bill began working in the restaurant business in multiple roles such as cook, dish washer, and managed the kitchens. He also loved to mow lawns for all the elderly ladies. He instilled within his family the importance of helping others. If he ever saw someone in need of food or clothing he was always helping them out. Bill's daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids were the light of his life. When Bill started to get ill, his family especially his son-in-law Joshua was always there and made sure Bill's needs were taken care of. Bill always called Joshua his rock and his hero.

In his spare time, Bill enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, reading and his dogs . He loved spending time with his family and traveling with his daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren whenever he could. He was a member of the Carter Baptist Church. Bill served as role model and sponsor for AA. Bill helped many overcome their problem with addiction. Bill loved his family and others and claimed many children as his honorary kids and grand kids. He will be missed by many.

Bill is preceded in death by his mom Donna Parker, twin boys William, Jr and Christopher Burns, one sister Donna Jean Dobbins, one brother Dustin James Parker, step-father Leon Parker, and step-brother Jerry Don Parker.

He is survived by his daughter Stormie Daukei and husband Joshua of Indiahoma, OK; four grandchildren Jakaela, Zach, Charles William, Eliana, and a host of honorary children and grandchildren; father Eugene Burns of Carter, OK; two brothers Al Burns and Clinton Burns both of Carter, OK; brother-in-law John Dobbins and wife Shelly of Sayre, OK; step siblings Gary Parker, Bobby Parker, Leigh Ann Parker/Querdibitty and their families; three nephews and their families and a host of extended family and friends.
