Obituary

Billy "Bill" Ray Boone was born November 10th, 1934 at Carter, Oklahoma to Leonard and Viola Boone. He passed from this life on October 5th, 2024 at his home in Elk City at the age of 89 years.

Bill graduated from Carter High School and enlisted in the United States Navy where he served four years. He met the love of his life Marquietta and they were married on July 18, 1958. They lived in California then Washington State where Bill entered barber school and started his career as a barber and hairdresser.

They then moved to Tulsa where Bill opened his first salon. They eventually moved back to his home town of Carter where he owned and operated the Carter Grocery Store and opened a small cafe. Bill and Marquietta raised their family in Carter then moved to Elk City where they lived the rest of their days enjoying retirement, traveling and making new friends along the way.

Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elk City. He enjoyed worship and his daily coffee group until his health failed. He was a loving, kind and gentle man that was devoted to his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Viola Boone; wife, Marquietta; son, Len; daughter, Pam; grandson, Brandon; sister, Louise Breeze Davidson; and daughter-in-law, Ellen Boone.

Bill is survived by his sons, Mark Boone and Ms. Terri Carnes; daughter, Stacie Skelton and husband, Darren; grandchildren, Cassie Lipetzky and husband, Dan, Keri Kelley and husband, Phil, Jeff Boone, Jessica Hileman and husband, Brandon, Jamie Marugg and husband, Nick, Whitney Burns, Jordan Skelton, Taylor Hubble and husband, Brock. Bill is also had an added blessing of 17 great grands and a sister-in-law, Toni Wyrick and was loved dearly by a host of nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed by his special friend, Harvey Wilson, his coffee group, and all that knew him.
