Beverly Sue Hopkins was born January 12th, 1942 in Seminole, Texas to Esther Alice (Borden) and John Kindell Holmes. She passed away in Elk City, Oklahoma on April 6, 2025 at the age of 83 years, 2 months, and 25 days.
Beverly moved with her family to Elk City, Oklahoma in high school. She completed her sophomore year in Elk City before moving with her family to Woodward, Oklahoma where she completed high school in 1960 being FFA Queen and Ms. Woodward. Beverly furthered her education at Oklahoma Baptist University where she received her bachelors degree in music. She began her career as a music teacher in Ponca City, OK grade school. She later made a career change and went into the legal field where she worked as a legal secretary for many years. During this time she was reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Harold Hopkins in 1985. On June 7th, 1986 they were married in Yukon, Oklahoma. It was at this time that Beverly gained five bonus children that all held a special place in her heart. In the late 1980's they moved to Lawrenceville, Georgia and remained there until returning in 2004 where they later retired in Oklahoma. Throughout Beverly's life she was always musically inclined and spent countless hours in choirs that preformed concerts. Even in retirement she enjoyed all things musical and her family can always remember music as being a major part of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; 2 bonus children, Lance Hopkins and Lori Poppell.
Beverly is survived by her 3 bonus children, Lisa Balcer and husband, Eric, Woodward, OK, Lana Porter and husband, Ronnie, Carter, OK, and Larry Hopkins and wife, Jacki, Yukon, OK; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter on the way; 1 sister, Patricia Lovelight, Cottonwood, AZ; niece, Lisa Christensen and husband, Corey and their family, Seattle, WA; nephew, Aaron Russell and wife, Amy and their family, Midwest City, OK; cousin, Mitch Gregory and wife, Sharon and their family and a host of other relatives and friends.
