Betty
Sites
Jun 23, 1930 — Jun 7, 2024
Betty Joyce (Benton) Sites, age 93, of Sweetwater, Oklahoma, was born on June 23rd, 1930 to Willard Everett and Viola Vivian (Cotton) Benton. She was married to Walter Ray Sites on December 29th, 1949 in Vernon, Texas. Betty was proud to be a lifelong member of the Sweetwater community where she resided her entire life.
Betty's life was marked by love and service, centered around two core values: her deep devotion to her family and her unwavering faith in her Savior.
She found her greatest joy in gathering loved ones from near and far around her table where warmth, laughter, and the smell of hot grease filled the air. In addition to her role as a farmer's wife, Betty faithfully served at Buffalo Baptist church as the pianist for 75 years as well as 30 years as a Sunday school teacher, impacting generations with the message of the Lord's love and salvation.
Betty's selfless spirit of service extended beyond the church walls, where she was quick to offer a meal and a listening ear to all. Her legacy of wisdom, faith, and love will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Betty was met by her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 7, 2024 at age 93. She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, Willard and Viola; husband, Ray; brothers, Allen (Junior) Edwards and Marshall Ernest "Buddy" Benton, and great-grandson Joel Nathan Preuss.
Betty is survived by her children Mike Sites and his wife Sally, and RaDonna Christopher and her husband Jerry; and grandchildren Sheila Smith and her husband Micheal, and their children Emily and Mason; Megan Thomas and her husband John, and their children Jack, Luke, and Nate; Kaylan Preuss and her husband Nathan, and their children Madelyn and Deacon; Jeremy Christopher and his wife Jenine, and their children Penelope and Jacob; Cade Sites and his wife Brittney, and their children Anson and Mesa.
A celebration of Betty's life will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 10:00 am at Buffalo Baptist Church in Sweetwater, Oklahoma. Interment will be at Buffalo Cemetery.
