Betty Lou (Stewart) Damron was born on October 12, 1948 to Roy Joe and Virginia Mae (Stauffer) Stewart in Modesto, CA. She passed on December 14, 2025 surrounded by her family at the age of 77 years, 2 months, and 2 days.
Betty grew up in Napa, CA along with her sister Judy and two brothers Gary and Wayne. She attended school in Napa until her sophomore year. The family then moved to Dempsey, OK where her other sister Linda was born. She attended Reydon High School and graduated with the class of 1966. The family moved to Sayre in 1966 and at that time she worked at the local Sonic. While working at Sonic, she met the love of her life Loren Damron. They were married on October 4, 1968 and to this union two daughters were born Carrie and Tammie. They lived in Sayre until 1974 and then made their home in Cheyenne, OK until the present time. While living in Cheyenne, Betty opened her in home daycare in 1982 which she operated until 2012. In October of 2018, Betty and Loren renewed their vows and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
In her spare time, Betty liked to garden, watch QVC and HSN, and cook. She also loved watching her soaps and the Hallmark channel. Betty was a member of the Prairie View Baptist Church where she was baptized. When she moved to Cheyenne she became a member of the Cheyenne First Baptist Church. She lastly became a member of the Reydon Community Church where she was attending until her passing. She was also a member of the Cheyenne Sorosis Club for many years.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Virginia Stewart, parents-in-law Cecil and Florence Damron, brother-in-law Jerry Damron, and sister-in-law Rosalia Stewart.
She is survived by her husband Loren Damron; two daughters Carrie Brown and Husband De of Cheyenne, OK and Tammie Howell of Cordell, OK; grandchildren Bryant (Amber) Howell, Quinton (Chelsea) Wilson, Brittany (Landon) Carpenter, Bryce (Taylor) Howell, Ashlynn (Hunter) Gholston, Avari Brown, Wyatt Evans; great grandchildren Jed, Ava, Brook, Braxton, Cashleigh, Huntleigh, Presleigh, Quade, Zyndy, Baylor, Meadow, Henley, and one baby boy, Hayes, on the way; two sisters Judy Dusek and husband Ernest of Sayre, OK and Linda Stewart and husband Mike Hall of Oklahoma City, OK; two brothers Gary Stewart of Sayre, OK and Wayne Stewart and wife Karolyn of Blanchard, OK; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Betty's memory to the American Diabetes Association (https://diabetes.org)
