Anna Mae Campbell was born April 12th, 1940 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Tina May (Abernathy) and Hubert Kenneth "H.K." Johnson. She passed away Thursday, June 26th, 2025 in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years, 2 months and 14 days.
Anna Mae grew up in the Berlin community where she attended school graduating in 1957. After graduation she began working for City National Bank as a teller. The next year she married Charles Phil Campbell on January 11th, 1958. They briefly began married life in Berlin before moving to Delhi, Oklahoma for four years, Sayre, Oklahoma for 12 years, and back to Berlin, Oklahoma to make their home. It was during this time that besides City National Bank she found employment as a secretary at Barnard's Chevrolet in Sayre, Oklahoma in the late 1960's. In the mid 1970's she became the administrative assistant for all of Puckett's Grocery Store's. Anna Mae continued until her retirement in the mid 1990's. Throughout her life she enjoyed playing the piano, working with the Roger Mills County Election Board at Berlin, gardening her vegetables, cooking, and canning. Anna Mae's favorite past time was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; granddaughter, Mallory (Campbell) Henson; and 1 brother, Donald Johnson.
Anna Mae is survived by her 2 children, Carrie Campbell Brown and husband, Kent and Carl Don Campbell and wife, Susie, all of Sayre, OK; 2 grandchildren, Elizabeth Harmony and husband, Nathan, and Carla Pearson and husband, Clayton; grandson-in-law, Jeremy Henson, Sweetwater, OK; 5 great grandchildren, Alyson, Kaylee, Colter, Callie, and Cody; 1 sister, Margaret Buckley, Edmond, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
