Amelia Gertrude Green was born May 1st, 1944 to Horatio Allen (Robbins) and Cecil Lloyd Simpson. She passed away at her home in Clinton, Oklahoma on September 20, 2024 at the age of 80.
Amelia grew up in Brentwood, California where she attended school graduating in 1962. She met her husband, James Edward Green and shortly thereafter they were married in Antioch, California on December 7th, 1963. After their marriage they moved to Salinas, California where Amelia worked in the corporate offices of Firestone before being a teachers aid and a secretary for Boronda Elementary School. She continued with the elementary school until they moved to Clinton, Oklahoma where they owned, and operated Green's Carpet. They continued to own and operate the carpet store up until 2019. In what little spare time Amelia had, she enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, working in the yard, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother, Billy Simpson.
Amelia is survived by 3 children, Leah Potter and husband, Bruce, Thomas, OK, Jim Green, Clinton, OK, and Dawn Green, Arapaho, OK; 6 grandchildren, Allison Ledford, Jordan Largent, Elizabeth Mathis, Karsyn Green, Amy Kelln, and David Cummings; numerous great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Twyla McCullough, Lorraine Elseth, Brenda Pease, and Brenda Largent and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
