Alyce Lauquetta Jarnagin was born on March 6, 1938, in Mayfield, Oklahoma, to Carl and Lois (Nelson) Jarnagin. She passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, in Shamrock, Texas, at the age of 88 years and 19 days.

Alyce was raised in the close-knit communities of Sayre and Sweetwater, Oklahoma, where she attended school and formed lifelong friendships that she cherished throughout her life. From an early age, she carried a deep sense of loyalty, resilience, and connection to the people around her—qualities that would define her life's work and relationships.

She married Frank LeGrand May 6, 1955, and together they built a family rooted in love and perseverance, raising three children: Diana, Mark, and James. The family made their home in Sweetwater, Mayfield and eventually settled in Erick, Oklahoma, where Alyce's presence became woven into the fabric of the community.

In the early 1960s, Alyce attended Aladdin Beauty College in Clinton, Oklahoma, where she earned her cosmetology certification. She went on to open and operate a salon in Sayre. Later, she moved her work to the Erick Nursing Home, where her role extended far beyond her profession. Alyce had a rare ability to blend her work with genuine compassion—serving not only as a stylist, but as a source of comfort, dignity, and companionship to those in her care. Her heart for service was further evident in her work with the Erick recreation center, where she invested her time helping young people and strengthening the community she loved.

In 1979, Alyce purchased the C&K Convenience Store and built it into an Erick institution. Yet her success was never measured in profit alone—it was reflected in the countless quiet acts of kindness she extended to others. During this time, she endured the loss of her husband Frank, but continued forward with strength while maintaining a strong focus on her family while managing and growing her business with determination.

Even in retirement in 1999, Alyce was not one to sit still. She continued working as the assistant manager of the gift shop at Cowboys Restaurant, where her warmth and personality left a lasting impression on all who met and worked with her. It was there that her and Charlie Floyd would begin a relationship that blossomed into a deep and enduring partnership. They were married on May 24, 2001. Together, they made their home in Erick, where she faithfully served alongside her husband at Texola Baptist Church.

Alyce was a rare person—one who balanced a professional life, a servant's heart for her community, and a deep devotion to her family. She found joy in the simple and meaningful things: caring for her animals, working in her yard, reading, and cheering passionately for her favorite teams—the University of Oklahoma Sooners and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Whether it was game day or an ordinary afternoon, she brought that same energy and loyalty to the people and things she loved most.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Frank LeGrand; one daughter, Pattye Guy; her grandson, Ricky LeGrand; her brother, Jerry Jarnagin; and her brother-in-law, Sonny Martin.

She is survived by her loving husband, Charlie Floyd, of the home; her four children: Diana Crosby and husband, Ronald, of Erick, Oklahoma; Mark LeGrand and wife, Cathy, of Sweetwater, Oklahoma; James LeGrand and wife, Amber, of Altus, Oklahoma, and Tracye Floyd, Wilkesboro, North Carolina. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Julie Fischer and husband, Chuck; Reagan Dixon and husband, Lance; Rachel Marsh and husband, Kooper; Kinsley Likavec and husband, Hunter; Calton Moore; Charlie Murphy; Amy Craven and husband, Jake; Emma Guy, and Leigha Guy. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Morgan, Madison, Liam, Lila, Lincoln, River, Stetson, Levi, Montgomery, and Barrett. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Martin, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Alyce's life was a testament to faith, perseverance, and quiet strength. She lived with a servant's heart, and now rests in the promise of eternal peace. As it is written in 2 Timothy 4:7, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." And in that faith, we find comfort knowing she has been welcomed home with the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant." (Matthew 25:23)
