Elenora Royal was born June 13th, 1930 in Lansing, Michigan to Nona Mae (Maddox) and Charles Sidney Roberts. She passed away Sunday, February 20th, 2022 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years, 8 months and 7 days. Elenora grew up in Lansing, Michigan where she attended and graduated from high school. During her school years she spent the summers traveling with her family to Cottage Grove, Tennessee to visit her grandparents. After graduation, she was married to Dale I. Royal in Lansing, Michigan on August 28, 1949. Together they moved to Florida where Dale went to preaching school. They lived there in Florida for a few years before moving to Michigan, California, and Arizona. They moved to Oklahoma in 1979, where she was a longtime employee with Anthony's and then Stage in Elk City, Oklahoma. It was here that Elenora and Dale made their home and worked with one Church of Christ congregation for the better part of 40 years. Elenora enjoyed everything dealing with cats, reading, desert climates and spending time with her family, church family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Deborah Royal Elenora is survived by her husband of 72 years, Dale; son, Charles Royal and wife, Ellen, Decatur, AL; 2 grandchildren, Katherine Davidson and husband, Dakota Davidson and Rebecca Royal; sister, Ruth Ann Nash and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 3rd, 2022 at 2:30 PM at the Pioneer Church of Christ. Burial will be held in Lansing, Michigan at a later date.
